About me

I’m Kathryn, a registered Functional Nutrition and Nutrigenomics practitioner.  I particularly specialise in hormone and nervous system health as well as autoimmune conditions, as these are all areas, I’ve personally overcome on my health journey.

I have a passion for cooking, a dedication to meeting my dietary needs, and I’m a self taught cook. I understand the importance of healthy nutritional meals that cater to the entire family.

In my culinary journey, I’ve learnt the importance of using seasonal and high quality ingredients. By using fresh produce not only do we enjoy better taste but we can also benefit from increased nutrient content and improved gut health through a diverse range of food.

One of my greatest joys is exploring different cuisines and ingredients during my travels and living abroad, which has allowed me to immerse myself in various culinary traditions, ingredients and food styles. This experience has profoundly influenced my cooking style and inspired the creation of unique and flavourful dishes.

The core focus of my food revolves around gut health and reducing inflammation. All my recipes are gluten and dairy free.

I firmly believe in the power of food as medicine.  Combining lifestyle factors like quality sleep, exercise, stress management and time spent outdoors, with proper nutrition can lead to remarkable healing and overall well being.

This is where nutrigenomics comes into play – the intersection of food nutrition and genomics.  DNA testing provides us with a map to understand how our bodies function on a genetic cellular level.  By knowing these things, it allows for me to provide a personalised plan to help overcome existing health concerns or to maintain optimum health for my clients.

A bespoke service that puts you in charge of your own health journey.

MY JOURNEY

From a young age, I’ve faced health challenges that have shaped my journey towards a happier and healthier life. At 16 I was diagnosed with IBS and today I am a healthy and contented Coeliac.

In addition to these conditions, I discovered that I am intolerant to dairy. I also have a variety of gene variations which were having an impact on my physical wellbeing and mental health.

It was through personal experience, that I realised the impact that nutrition has on our health. This realisation fuelled my passion for cooking healthy and balanced dishes.

Following the birth of my children, I experienced a period of profound illness. My journey to find answers, involved countless hospital appointments, where chronic liver disease, thyroid issues, Addisons disease were among the conditions investigated.

Determined to regain my health and feel better, I turned to real food and nutrigenomics as a means to understand my body and nourish it. Food is only part of the the journey. To complete it, I avoid toxic products, spend time in nature, soak up plenty of sunlight, engage in gentle daily exercises to rebuild my fitness and strength and prioritising sleep. These are integral parts of the healing journey. Through personal experience and self discovery, my passion for health and wellness grew stronger than ever before.
