Homemade Granola
This is the best granola! It’s simple to make and gut healthy too. Homemade granola means you can avoid the seed oils and refined sugars create a gut healthy and anti-inflammatory, that is very moorish and delicious.
If you want to make it nut free - just swap the flaked almonds for more seeds.
Ingredients
Fills a 2L Kilner jar
300g GF oats
50g sunflower seeds
50g flaxseed / linseed
100g flaked almonds
2 tbsp honey
75 ml maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla extract
10 dates, stones removed and chopped
50g dried berries (eg, cranberry, goji berry, cherries)
Mix the oats, seeds and nuts in a bowl with the honey, maple syrup and vanilla extract. Tip onto two baking trays. Bake 15 mins FAN 130. divide the dates and dried berries between the 2 trays and mix well. Bake for 15 mins. Allow to fully cool down before storing into an airtight container. It stores well for 3-4 weeks.
The granola is perfect to add to chia puddings or served with some coconut milk gut healthy yoghurt and fruit.
